When buying boat trailers directly from the manufacturer, buyers have the option to make specific customization requests. This is an important consideration for commercial boat hauling companies, private boat owners as well as for marina and boatyard services.
Longer Use Potential
Depending on the seller, it may be possible to get an accurate history of the wear and tear on hydraulic trailers, or it may be more of a gamble. Just looking at the physical condition of the trailer can be misleading as scrapes, dents, and dings that may indicate frequent or rough use can be corrected with body work and some paint before the sale.
Manufacturer Warranty
When purchasing a boat trailer from a reputable manufacturer, you will find a substantial warranty on the frame and components, including hydraulics. This is more than just peace of mind; it is an assurance as to the company standing behind their product.
Used trailers will not have this protection. The cost of repairs, particularly if there are problems with the hydraulics, can quickly offset any savings. Unless you are buying a used trailer from the manufacturer, it is rarely a good deal even at a very low price.
